Tons of MARY POPPINS RETURNS stills, art and BTS pics have been released!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Like many children who have grown up sometime in the last, oh, 50+ years Mary Poppins was a cornerstone movie in my development. Even though it's super cheesy to say it, the movie's practically perfect in every way for me and is one of those films that instantly takes me back to my childhood.

Disney is doing a sequel starring Emily Blunt as Mary Poppins where the super (califragilisticexpialidocious) natural nanny returns when the now grown Banks children are having trouble with their own kids. Lin-Manuel Miranda kinda takes Bert's place as Jack, a lamplighter, as Poppins works her particular brand of magic.

I'm not the biggest fan of Rob Marshall as a director, but I have a bit of hope for the movie because he assembled such a great cast and isn't afraid to follow in the original's footsteps and go whole hog on the musical front.

EW has an exclusive debut of a boatload of stills, BTS shots and production art that also tickles my nostalgia center a bit, too. The look of the film seems to be right on, Blunt as Poppins seems to be a bullseye and Miranda settles into the working class sidekick mode pretty perfectly. We'll see how it all looks and sound in motion, but this new glimpse at the film is an encouraging one. Take a look below:

Perhaps my favorite detail in any of the above images is that Admiral Boom's ship is still perched atop that house on Cherry Tree Lane.

I like that they're keeping Dick Van Dyke under wraps for the time being. Word on the street is his character, son of the old man banker he played with old age makeup in the original, gets a dance sequence and that puts an immediate and long-lasting smile on my face.

What do you folks think?
