Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Now, I think Valerian looks amazing. I love how rich the world is, how detailed the CGI on display is without being afraid to be colorful and weird and the underlying sense of fun adventure sci-fi. But I'm not the one they need to sell on this. My ass was in the seat with the simple title "Luc Besson's Valerian."
That first trailer focused more on the fun, this final trailer focuses more on the wow factor of the world-building and the legacy of not only the material, but of the director behind it. Again, that works for me, but I wonder if they should have focused a little more on the fun. Hell, it seemed to work for Guardians of the Galaxy, which I guarantee you is going to be the number one comparison made by general audiences.
I'm no marketing expert, so who knows? They definitely seem to be going for a more Avatar "you gotta see this shit on the big screen" sell and that did okay for that movie. All I know is I want to see this, like, right now.
