Joss Whedon to step in to finish JUSTICE LEAGUE as the Snyders deal with a family tragedy.

Hey, guys. Quint here. Zack and Deborah Snyder have come out with some incredibly sad news to announce they're stepping away from Justice League as it races towards it's November release date. Zack's eldest daughter, Autumn, committed suicide in March, he tells The Hollywood Reporter, and after trying to bury themselves in work both Zack and Deborah have stepped back in order to help their family heal after this tragedy.

Warner Bros have brought in Joss Whedon to finish the movie, who Snyder had already brought in to help write some new scenes after he had some ideas after a family and friends screening of the current cut. According to THR the original plan was for Whedon to write the scenes and Snyder to shoot them, but now Joss will be directing the reshoots as well as finishing up the rest of post-production.

Remember that Whedon is also tapped to write and direct a Batgirl film for Warners, so they're sticking to the family to help get through this tragedy.

It sounds like WB is really getting behind Snyder in this moment and that's commendable. What they're going through right now is something no parent should have to face and while it means very little in a time like this they have my deepest condolences.

Movies aside, Zack Snyder's a real guy who is going through an impossible time right now, so please keep the talkback civil for this one, will ya'?
