Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. There's a lot of nostalgia-driven material out in the world right now. You can probably thank the bulldozer success of The Force Awakens for getting every studio and production outfit in the world throwing all the money at resurrecting their back catelogue.
I didn't think I'd ever see another Dark Crystal... movie, TV series, whatever. It was too weird, too beautifully of its time. The will was there, but not the money. It was too risky. Then comes Netflix and their bottomless bag of cash and suddenly the Jim Henson Company starts churning out magic again, like Wonka's Chocolate Factory mysteriously restarting.
The official announcement video was released today and it's goosebump material, folks. I mean, using Jim Henson's own words about what Dark Crystal means to him and his career is bound to do that, but to see that juxtaposed against images of new puppets being built is pretty damn brilliant manipulation, if I do say so.

The 10 episode run begins shooting this fall. Age of Resistance is a prequel about three Gelfling that discover the source of the Skesis' power. Hulk's Louis Leterrier will produce and direct.
I don't know about you, but this is super exciting to me.
