Darren Aronofsky has a bloody heart for MOTHER!

Hey folks, Harry here...  Darren Aronofsky and Paramount Pictures pulled out a new poster to celebrate Mother's Day yesterday.   It's for Aronofsky's MOTHER!   It's a film about uninvited guests that end up testing a couple's mettle.  Starring Jennifer Lawrence and Javier Bardem, as the poster states... but in addition we get Ed Harris, Michelle Pfeiffer, Kristen Wiig, Brian and Domhnail Gleeson.

Now - it is a gorgeous poster.  But what does it mean.   The look on Jennifer's face is one of sincere devotion offering up her own heart, but for why?  Is it to save her love?  Is this a home invasion film?  Given the very little we have to go on, my brain leaps to William Wyler's ol flick THE DESPERATE HOURS with Humphrey Bogart, Fredric March and Arthur Kennedy.  That got remade in 1990 by Michael Cimino with Mickey Rourke, Anthony Hopkins, Elias Koteas, David Morse and Mimi Rogers.   Though the original is still the best.   It also brings to mind Sam Peckinpah's STRAW DOGS which came out the year I was born with the brilliant performances by Dustin Hoffman and Susan George.  I'd go out on a limb and say that STRAW DOGS (1971) is the very best erosin of the domestic tranquility film - but...   Darren Aronofsky has the skill set to perhaps rewrite the sub genre forever.   He certainly has an amazing cast.  From the IMDB page - you learn this film has Paparazzi, Sex Slave, Stragglers, Creep, Fans, Underlings, Autograph Seekers, a Good Samaritan, Protesters, Tourists and a Rave Dancer.   What the hell is this Psychological Thriller?   Can't wait for a trailer!

The film hits October 13th.

Keep it cool!

Harry
