Short version: Ridley Scott's “Alien Covenant” is an expensive remake of -- and prequel to -- Ridley Scott's “Alien,” only not as good as the 1979 version. “Covenant” is however much better than Ridley Scott's other "Alien" prequel “Prometheus.”
“Snatched” is shockingly funny and way better than the advertising lets on. The new R-rated Amy Schumer comedy is not quite as good as Shumer’s R-rated “Trainwreck,” though she does play another trainwreck.
This Saturday at 9 p.m. Emily Horrorella and I intend to end the hiatus of our live weekly streaming periscast (or periscope-cast) “Count The Screaming Argonauts,” where we will be chatting about these movies and a wide variety of other matters. If all else fails, you will be able to find this latest edition of CTSA on my @hercAICN Twitter feed.
Before that? If you still have questions about “Prometheus” and/or “Snatched,” I’ll be talking about them starting at 4:30 p.m. PT on the Friday edition of “The Ralph Bailey Show,” which you can listen to LIVE by hitting the “Listen Live” button at kernradio.com.
Best of all, you, constant reader, can join this very nerdy conversation.
Ralph’s toll-free call-in line is:

Call in drunk, as I always do, but watch your language. This is not a podcast. This monster goes out over the air on all 50,000 watts of Southern California’s KERN-AM (NewsTalk 1180!) and KERN-FM (The New 96.1!).
