Magik & Wolfsbane cast for Josh Boone directed NEW MUTANTS feature!!!

Hey folks, Harry here - I was 11 years old when NEW MUTANTS hit.  The cover just screamed for me to take it home - and once I started reading Claremont's story of a youthful group of Mutants having adventures...  I couldn't stop.  Loved their line of stories and characters they introduced to the X-Men universe.   In particular I loved Wolfsbane, Sunspot and Illyana Rasputin (who becomes Magik in an astonishingly awesome mini-series, that was perhaps my fave X-Men story after the run from GIANT SIZE X-MEN 1 through the end of the Dark Phoenix run.   MAGIK was thrilling.   Once Bill Sienkiewicz joined the NEW MUTANTS and we got WARLOCK - Warlock is my fave character from the New Mutants world.    A techno-organic alien that's all the awesome.

Now This NEW MUTANTS film directed by Josh Boone, who wrote the film with Knate Gwaltney.   The characters we're getting in this adaptation are Danielle Moonstar (Mirage/PSYCHE), Rahne Sinclair (WOLFSBANE), Roberto da Costa (SUNSPOT), Samuel Guthrie (CANNONBALL), Illyana Rasputin (MAGIK) and WARLOCK!!!

Ok - that's incredibly happy Harry material right there.   And today, we learned that Arya from GAME OF THRONES has been cast as the Scottish Rahne Sinclair/WOLFSBANE, who can transform into a wolf!   How fucking approrpiate is that casting?!?!?!   I mean, Arya's brother has that power!  In a way.

Then, Anya Taylor-Joy, who was outstanding in THE WITCH and SPLIT - has been cast as COLOSSUS' baby sis, Illyana Rasputin aka MAGIK.  I'm genuinely giddy about these two bits of note-perfect casting.   And can we have Nightcrawler with a bucaneer blade wielded with his pointy tail?   Puh-leeeeeze?

This film hits April 13th, 2018...  Please give them their costumes - and Warlock needs to be storyboarded by Bill Sienkiewicz - and overseeen by him.  Our pal Borys Kit at the Hollywood Reporter broke this badass news!

Keep it cool!

Harry
