Hey folks, Harry here... Cliff Curtis has been killing it for a long time on film. Love him in RAPA NUI and ONCE WERE WARRIORS. That's how we were introduced to him, but remember him in DEEP RISING and THREE KINGS? How about his amazing Pablo Escobar in Ted Demme's BLOW with Johnny Depp? Great work. But most recently - he's been the only reason why I tune into FEAR THE WALKING DEAD. A show of such immense disappointment to my zombie loving mind. Cliff is the sole character on the show that I have dug consistently throughout it all. But now Mr Curtis will be, "Tonowari, who is the leader of the Metkayina, the reef people clan!" Reef People. Well, this is on Pandora, so don't expect Cliff Curtis as you know him swimming the reefs, it's going to be this Tonowari character - and we don't know if Reef People are like the Na'vi... what if they got fins and can't leave the water? We know that Cameron wants to make things underwater quite a lot on Pandora, but he had also mentioned exploring some of them other planetary bodies in the sky. So who knows what Cameron has planned for us.
Cool thing about this long ass assignment, Cliff Curtis gets to go home to New Zealand, where he's from for the extended shooting schedule - and his role is said to be a LEAD ROLE for the next 4 films! Excellent! Also - isn't it nice to have AVATAR news that isn't a theme park or James Cameron telling us the films are still further away than we previously thought?
