Christopher Nolan's DUNKIRK could very well be the best thing he has made!

Hey folks, Harry here...  Most of you longtime readers know that I do not tend to cut Christopher Nolan much slack.   I've loved quite a few of his films, appreciate, but don't love a few more and I really can't fucking stand his last BATMAN flick.   It was - frustratingly suck ass to me.   INTERSTELLAR has been the film of his that I've most enjoyed struggling with.   I read scientific journals about Interstellar theory and a whole lot of cosmic phenomenon - and quite often I revisit.   His Quantum Bookshelves sequence I've warmed a bit to, but still wish it had been anything else.   But it isn't a film I love, which frustrates me because it is a whole mess of my favorite things thrown together there.

I just can't imagine not loving DUNKIRK.   I've read extensively about the history of it.  Then, just two nights ago I watched INTO THE STORM, the HBO series with Brendan Gleeson as Churchill - and it made me rewatch every ounce of footage we had from Nolan's upcoming epic.   And I got all excited again.   Today, they've released the final trailer:

I love that THE BFG is in DUNKIRK. I love the story of DUNKIRK, regular extraordinary citizens rushing to save their countrymen from certain annihilation at the greatest risk to themselves. This kind of story of national unity is something unthinkable in a modern America, without so terrifying tragedy that would force us to all pull together. It's a shame that America as a whole can not wake up to the 5th Columnists that are destroying us. But we all must keep vigilant. We need to think about saving the lives of our fellow Americans. Remember, Humphrey Bogart was a Cynic in CASABLANCA, but when it came to helping the Nazis and getting to have Ingrid Bergman to himself - he abandoned that, "I stick my neck out for nobody," cynical bullshit, and went above and beyond. C'mon folks, this could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship.

We get to see this July 21st - and some will see it in 70mm!

Keep it cool

Harry
