Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. CGI sharks still suck, but I'll be damned if I'm not happier than Quint crushin' a can at the prospect of sharksploitation coming back in a big way. The Shallows was a whole lotta dumb fun and 47 Meters Down looks like it'll deliver some more goofy shark thriller entertainment.
The premise is simple: Mandy Moore and Claire Holt are trapped in a shark cage surrounded by sharks and losing their oxygen supply. Matthew Modine is the captain of the boat that lost the cage and is trying to get them out safely. Based on this trailer he's not doing a very good job at that, despite having a particularly recognizable Robert Shaw-esque wardrobe.

Looks right up my alley. Every CGI shark ever committed to film has that same blurry/unrealistic movement thing going on, but I can overlook that if the story is pulpy and ridiculous enough. This one seems to fit the bill.
