Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Well, holy shit, it looks like that crazy rumor that David Fincher was going to direct World War Z 2 is panning out. Variety says that the director's deal is about to close and the sequel about to be greenlighted, with an aim to start filming in early 2018.
Brad Pitt would return as star and producer, but this time with one of our very best storytellers behind the camera. I can't even imagine what the hell an epic scale David Fincher zombie movie looks like, but I'll be damned if the thought of it doesn't get my geek juices flowing.
The original movie strayed pretty drastically from Max Brooks' book, so I wonder if any ideas or characters will make their way into the sequel.
This is one of the most baffling film developments in a long while and I fuckin' love it. It's so batshit crazy it just might work!
