Based on characters first depicted in 1982’s Spectacular Spider-Man #64, Marvel’s “Cloak and Dagger” hits Disney’s Freeform channel early next year.
Cloak & Dagger is the story of Tandy Bowen (Olivia Holt) and Tyrone Johnson (Aubrey Joseph) – two teenagers from very different backgrounds, who find themselves burdened and awakened to newly acquired superpowers which are mysteriously linked to one another. Tandy can emit light daggers and Tyrone has the ability to engulf others in darkness. They quickly learn they are better together than apart, but their feelings for each other make their already complicated world even more challenging.
“Cloak” is one of 11 Marvel TV shows currently airing or ordered to series: ABC’s “Agents of SHIELD” and “The Inhumans,” Netflix’s “Daredevil,” “Jessica Jones,” “Luke Cage,” “Iron Fist,” “The Punisher” and “The Defenders,” FX’s “Legion” and Freeform’s “New Warriors” and “Cloak and Dagger.” (ABC's "Agent Carter" was cancelled last year.)
In addition, Hulu has ordered to pilot Marvel’s “The Runaways” and the Fox broadcast channel has ordered to pilot its Marvel mutant fugitive project “Gifted” (which features the X-babe Polaris and has nothing to do with the same-titled Chris Evans movie now in cinemas).
