Ridley Scott lays claim to BATTLE OF BRITAIN as a future film of his!

Hey folks, Harry here...   Ridley Scott is a filmmaker possessed with non-stop filmmaking, and I for one applaud his dedication to his craft.   Watching the imagery he put on screen recently has been quite invigorating.   THE MARTIAN is a pure triumph, that I don't believe can even be argued.   This new ALIEN COVENANT...  man, I hope.  In many ways, this BATTLE OF BRITAIN project could easily be taken as a sequel to Christopher Nolan's DUNKIRK, because historically speaking, after Dunkirk, was the formal start of what became known as the BATTLE OF BRITAIN, which was the Luftwaffe vs the British AirForce, which was also reinforced by volunteer pilots from around the world.

Now, hopefully you're familiar with Guy Hamilton's epic, BATTLE OF BRITAIN from 1969, which was the only film to really tackle this.   That cast was epic! Just look at this poster:

There is some argument over how long the Battle Of Britain was - British Historians have it running July 10th through Halloween of 1940, but German Historians have it running from July 1940 to June 1941.  We'll see how Ridley tackles it.   But this was the first warfare consisting entirely of Airfare.   It was an enormous overtaking and it'll be interesting to see how different it plays out over Guy Hamilton's excellent epic of the same events.

This'll get you up to speed:

Now at the same time that Ridley announces this, we know he's working on the Getty Kidnapping film, and he's stated a desire for like 4 more ALIEN movies. Fascinating period of Scott's career!

Keep it cool,

Harry
