Toy poodle and famed radio personality Kayleigh Underfoot Burns, a frequent guest and topic on Southern California-based KERN-FM’s “Nerd World Report,” passed away April Fools Day.
She would have been 12 years old on July 4.
White in color and typically weighing in at 8 pounds, she spent -- over the course of her short life -- more hours in the same room as myself than any other mammal on the planet, including my wife.
She may have saved my life at least once, scaring away prowlers who decided to tamper with my home’s electrical box one moonless night.
As the insurance commercials maintain, poodles are one of the smartest breeds, and she was a smart poodle, learning how to fetch in the course of 36 hours.
She was a GOOD DOG.
