Ridley Scott: There Are Five
ALIEN Movies In The Hopper!!

I am – Hercules!!

"If [Alien Covenant] is successful, and then the next one, and then there will definitely be three more,” Ridley Scott, who turns 80 in November, tells Fandango’s Erik Davis.

One of these movies will apparently be titled “Alien: Awakening” and take place between the events of Scott’s “Prometheus” and “Alien: Covenant.”

"It will go “Prometheus,” “Awakening,” “Covenant,” fairly integral where this colonization ship is on the way...." said Scott.

As I recall, “Prometheus” lead Noomi Rapace was not mentioned in Fox’s press release on “Alien: Covenant,” even though it’s long been known she’ll be seen in “Alien Covenant.” Will “Awakening” focus more on Rapace’s character Elizabeth Shaw?

Scott suggests one of the films will be set just before 1979’s “Alien,” which Scott directed, but none will take place subsequent to 1979’s “Alien.”

Scott also compared “Blade Runner’s” Roy Batty to Michael Fassbender’s character in “Alien: Covenant,” due May 19:

"It's beginning to answer the who and why," he said. "It's definitely gorier, and smarter. In it, we raise some very interesting questions about the position and possibility of AI against human condition, and it crosses into the zone of apartheid -- kind of like how Roy Batty was treated like a second-class citizen [in Blade Runner]. And so is David (Michael Fassbender). The knee-jerk was to create a second-class citizen, even if he is superior to everyone. So the natural thing to do at the end of Prometheus was to send them off together because when you think you've got it, you've got to keep the characters alive, as opposed to killing them. And [Covenant] starts to answer the who and why."
