Ridiculously giant shark movie MEG pushed back to August, 2018!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. So it looks like you'll have to wait even more for the already long-in-the-works adaptation of Steve Alten's Meg. The film was originally enjoying a March 2018 release date and is now pushed back to August, possibly to get away from a currently Untitled Fox Marvel film supposedly set up for March of next year.

It's also possible the move is to accommodate 3D and IMAX post-production on this surely VFX heavy feature about a giant Megalodon shark proving it's not really extinct afterall.

Whatever the reason, the flick will now hit theaters five months later than initially thought. I'm frankly shocked this movie is happening at all, considering it's been floating around for so long. As a fan of big shark movies I know there aren't a whole hell of a lot of good ones out there, so I would definitely welcome a new even Deep Blue Sea level quality shark flick and am hopeful this one could live up to that admittedly low standard. And really, if they're making a 70 foot long killer shark movie with big studio money then this should at least end up as dumb fun or someone somewhere done fucked up.

Anyway, that's the update. If they're going to do it then I'd rather them take their time and do it up right, I guess.
