Donnie Yen to star in video game adaptation SLEEPING DOGS!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. I never really got into Sleeping Dogs, but I dig the concept (an open world video game set in Hong Kong involving cops versus Triads). It also had a really cool Tyler Stout poster, too! I just could never get a good feel for the controls, which is the easiest way for me to give up on a game.

Looks like Neal Moritz's Original Pictures is developing a film adaptation of said game and, per Deadline, they're setting none other than Donnie Yen in the lead.

Good move by Moritz. He's a huge star only made bigger internationally by his recent scene-stealing turn in Rogue One. It's about damn time Yen can comfortably headline an American-made action flick, even if it's a B-level video game adaptation. No disrespect to Square Enix, but this ain't exactly Halo or Fallout or The Last of Us or Uncharted we're talking about here.

Still, you get a good director and a solid script and this has the makings of a really cool flick, don't you think?
