Peter Dinklage might be joining up with both AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR flicks!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Well, well, well. Variety reports that noneother than Peter Dinklage is in talks to join up with Joe and Anthony Russo's two-part Infinity War Avengers story.

This wouldn't be the first Marvel movie Dinklage has been involved with. The rather flattering photo above comes from his portrayal of Bolivar Trask in X-Men: Days of Future Past, but we know that Fox and Marvel Studios aren't as cosy as the studio is now with Sony, so I wouldn't get your hopes up for any X-crossovers.

Chris Evans was able to play in different parts of the Marvel movie universe and if things pan it then Dinklage will, too.

Variety has no info on who he's being eyed to play, but the sky's the limit. He could be playing an established Marvel comic character in live action or via Motion Capture/voicework or he could be a new character. He could be front and center or kind of a throwaway like Martin Freeman in Captain America Civil War.

Rob Liefeld has been tweeting his hope that Dinklage is playing Pip, a member of the Infinity Watch and sometimes partner of Adam Warlock, one of Thanos' greatest enemies.

This seems like it fits, but he could be playing just about anyone, really. That's how good he is as a force of personality. From our editorial chat, Harry's convinced Dinklage is going to be a CGI version of one of Thanos' warlords, specifically Black Dwarf. I'm not so sure about that one, beyond the insensitive name association, but it just goes to show that there's a huge catelogue of characters Dinklage can play.

One other thing to note, the story once again confirms that Avengers: Infinity War will be shot back to back with an untitled sequel. When it was announced they called it Infinity War Pts 1 and 2, but have since backtracked on that. In fact, I seem to remember them saying there is only one stand alone movie, but it sounds like that's not exactly the case.

So you have to ask yourself why Infinity War would stay the title of the first film and why they're not releasing the new title of the second. There's a reason for it and that reason likely tips a hat to what is going to happen in that first movie. Smarter comic book nerds than me can figure out what that is, but it's something I can't stop thinking about. There's a reason why the second movie isn't titled yet, but why?

What do you folks think?
