They’re sticking with the Harrison Ford narration?
Warner Bros. says of “Blade Runner 2049,” due next year:
Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.
Denis Villeneuve, who directed “Prisoners,” “Enemy,” “Sicario” and “Arrival,” helms from a screenplay by Hampton Fancher (“Blade Runner”) and Michael Green (“Green Lantern”).
1982's "Blade Runner" today gets 89% positive reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, but all of the "Blade Runner" reviews it tallies were posted or published decades after its release! 1982 was my first year as a professional newspaper film critic -- and although "Blade Runner" made my top ten that year, I remember very few other reviewers recommending the movie. Even the great Gene Siskel called it "a waste of time":
