Harry's BNATPSYCHO 18 FAKE LIST - and Stand By... Oh boy, here we go...

Hey folks, Harry here with the 18th Fake List of films not playing at this year's BUTT-NUMB-A-THON...   For me, every year, this process is Cranial Cinematics Gymnastics.   To look at one list of 13 titles - There are not 13 full length films playing...   3 very special visions of the future will be playing varying in time between as a handful of minutes to maybe as much as 4 people's handsful.   Add to that...  The four full new features that I'm quite delighted with.   Then 6 fantastic vintage features.

This has been, a fascinating year - historically speaking.  At times it feels like society is spinning off its rails & the world is both losing too many greats while we've had so much political absurdity.  Had you ever told me that there'd be a political movement around the notion of White Power and Neo-Nazi ideals - that would be given a megaphone into pop culture...  I wouldn't and couldn't believe it.   I keep thinking, "Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition!"   It is why I themed BNAT's application to be about thriving in the Post-Apocalypse.

The audience that reacted and gave it their all... I can't wait to have see the line up of actual films playout and the discussions we'll have over the epic journey we have ahead of us.

Now - here's the FAKE LIST:

1.  Darren Aronofsky’s THE FOUNTAIN (2006)

2.  Tod Browning’s LONDON AFTER MIDNIGHT (1927)

3.  Zhang Yimou’s THE GREAT WALL (2017)

4.    Ishiro Honda’s KING KONG VS GODZILLA (1962)

5.  Ray Kellogg, John Wayne Y Mervyn LeRoy’s THE GREEN BERETS (1968)

6.  Sam Fuller’s SHOCK CORRIDOR (1963)

7.  Roger Vadim’s BARBARELLA (1968)

8.  Frank Capra’s LOST HORIZON (1937)

9.  Sofia Coppola’s MARIE ANTOINETTE (2006)

10.  Sam Wood’s KINGS ROW (1942)

11.  Alejandro Jodorowsky’s EL TOPO (1970)

12.  Sergio Corbucci’s THE GREAT SILENCE (1968)

13.  Sam Peckinpah’s THE WILD BUNCH (1969)

As for STANDBY for BNATPSYCHO 18 - it's going to be tight...  But who knows - there was once a BNAT where I thought we were full up, and 20 minutes before the show got underway, we discovered that...  there were about 12 locals that had sickness, emergencies and next thing I knew everyone that showed up got in.  I always like that line from INDIANA JONES AND THE LAST CRUSADE, "Only a leap from the lion's mouth will you prove your worth" - at least that's how my mind seems to remember it, but it's true.  Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

And I believe we've got a truly great line up.   Time will tell.  But I'm quite excited to wake up, be there and enjoy it all.

Get a good night's rest if you're going...  if not...   well still sleep well - watch some movies this weekend, I suggest the ones above.

Take care,

Harry
