Nicholas Meyer: A Famous Actress Has Already Beamed Aboard CBS’ STAR TREK: DISCOVERY!!

I am – Hercules!!

“I know Michelle Yeoh is in ['Star Trek: Discovery']," Nicholas Meyer told ComingSoon.net during a discussion of Meyer’s new-to-Blu-ray 1979 big-screen adventure "Time After Time.”

Though "Star Trek Discovery" was reportedly set to begin production this month, no casting for the CBS All Access series – on which “Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan” writer-director Meyer serves as writer and producer – has been announced.

The 54-year-old Malaysian actress plays veteran Starfleet officer Han Bo, captain of the Shenzhou, but she is not the series' central character.  The lead character is said to be a human Starfleet executive officer in her twenties or thirties.

Recall an early promo for "Star Trek: Discovery" promised "new crews," suggesting the new series will focus on more than one starship.

Yeoh’s big-screen credits include “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” and the 1997 James Bond actioner “Tomorrow Never Dies.”

“Star Trek: Discovery,” set ten years before Kirk and Spock's famous "five year mission" depicted in NBC's original 1960s "Star Trek" series, begins streaming on CBS All Access in May.
