Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Well, Uncharted finally lands a new director and, according to Deadline, is on a fast track to becoming a reality. Finally. After years of development under such watchful eyes as David O. Russell, Seth Gordon and Joe Carnahan, we might actually get to see this film finally greenlighted.
If that happens, it'll be the unlikely director Shawn Levy behind the camera. I say "unlikely" only because up until recently he was only known for kiddie fare, but he's been on a bit of a roll since directing Real Steel (which might not have set the world on fire, but showed he was more than Mr. Night At The Museum) and producing two of the best things offered up by 2016: Stranger Things and Arrival.
Joe Carnahan's script is still in place and he'll be busy directing the new Bad Boys film while Levy brings Nathan Drake to the big screen.
All the luck to Mr. Levy. This is a big, fun universe to play in and I expect him to nail that darkly funny yet dangerous adventure tone that the games capture so well. What do you folks think?
