Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. I kind of love how much pleasure video game companies get from cockteasing their fans. Bethesda was working on Fallout 4 for years and, as a company, just seemed to smile knowingly every time there was a leak or fan speculation about the game being in the works. "Well, we're working on something..." And then bam, the announcement and it's coming out in a few months!
Rockstar did something similar with their popular (and still badass) Red Dead series, except they couldn't hold the secret as long as Bethesda did. Fans have speculated they've been working on a new Red Dead for years and over the last couple of days they've teased a few Red-Deady-looking images before finally, officially, confirming the title today with a jaw-droppingly gorgeous teaser trailer. Check it out:
Red Dead Revolver was the first game in the series and followed different characters than the incredibly popular sequel, Red Dead Redemption. Since this isn't a new Red Dead _____ title, it's reasonable to assume this game will follow Jack Marston, son of the main character in Red Dead Redemption.
Gaming technology has advanced so much I can't even really fathom how amazing a current gen open world western done by the Red Dead team will be.
The game won't hit shelves until late next year (November 2017 is a good guess since that's peak video game season), but you can already pre-order!
So, rejoice game fans! Red Dead Redemption 2 is finally coming!
