Jon Favreau's THE LION KING redo gets a screenwriter!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Coming off of his huge success with his live-action Jungle Book flick, Jona Favreau is gearing up to bring another one of the Mouse House's classics to the big screen once more. This time he's tackling The Lion King. To be honest, I have no idea what to call this one because it's almost certainly not going to have any real "Live Action" characters. I'd guess Favreau's going for another photo-real CG look, though.

Anyway, Favreau's Lion King will be some kind of adaptation of Disney's animated classic and now, per Deadline, he has a screenwriter in frequent Spielberg collaborator Jeff Nathanson (Catch Me If You Can, The Terminal).

Favreau's got a full plate with this film and the much whispered-about follow-up to The Jungle Book. His take on Jungle Book was pretty awesome and I can't wait to see him dive into another super-catchy Disney classic.

What do you folks think?
