At Fantastic Fest a few week ago, I had the chance to check out a creepy short film called GIVERTAKER. The film was written by Peter Hall and directed by Paul Gandersman of Arcanum Pictures (MY SUCKY TEEN ROMANCE, GROW UP TONY PHILLIPS), an Austin-based production company. The story is about a teenage girl who conjures supernatural forces in order to avenge the meangirls of her adolescence.
The film also serves as an introduction into the world of the Dead Kids Club, Arcanum's homage to 90's YA horror novels. Also included here is the incredible throw back poster art by Stephen Andrade. Based on this impressive proof-of-concept piece, I can't wait to see what else the Arcanum team has in store! GIVERTAKER debuts on Vimeo today, so check it out below.
