Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. We only have a couple months to go before we see what Gareth Edwards' Rogue One looks like. I'm very curious how it all turns out. Edwards has a great eye for visuals and framing, but his stuff has thusfar fallen a tad short on character work.
He's got a hell of a cast for Rogue One and all his characters here look really damn cool, so I'm hoping everything comes together. The concept of these Star Wars spin-off movies is one of my favorite things to come out of the Lucasfilm/Disney merger.
They're starting off this spin-off run with familiar Star Wars landmarks and characters, but what I'm really looking forward to is when they can separate fully from the Saga films and really explore the vast (non-Skywalker centric) galaxy that our minds spun with the second we saw that cantina full of aliens.
Rogue One is a first step into that galaxy of characters and many of those are front and center on the new poster. Check it out:
Vader's head sneaking into the Death Star is pretty cleaver. I have a feeling the Dark Lord of the Sith will be all over the marketing and toys as the release date approaches.
