Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. I'm newly returned from a family vacation in Orlando. One of those days was spent at Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure which will eventually be nothing but Harry Potter rides with a couple of Minions-related spots sprinkled throughout. The world JK Rowling created is perhaps the most detailed and captivating original universe since George Lucas decided to make a space opera about warrior monks, pirates and masked men with breathing problems.
To see swarms of kids enraptured by the Wizarding World, dressed up in cloaks and brandishing magic wands, only cemented what I already guessed. This Potterverse stuff is here to stay. It hasn't diminished since the films ended. If anything it's grown.
I'm not convinced WB has an automatic hit without Harry, Ron and Hermione, but I love the time period and locations glimpsed in the trailers for Fantastic Beasts. I have high hopes for the film.
While we wait we have the first track of James Newton Howard's score for the movie to please our earholes, as debuted by Pottermore. Take a listen:
Sounds good so far! I dig the playful tone and the callbacks to John Williams' iconic work in the Potter films.
