Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. THR has a nice scoop about the next Disney Animation flick GIGANTIC. The company is looking in-house and has grabbed Meg LaFauve to come in and co-direct Gigantic with Nathan Greno.
LaFauve has worked within Disney quite extensively. She wrote for Inside Out, The Good Dinosaur and, more recently, on the Marvel side of things with Captain Marvel. She was working on the script for Gigantic and got elevated to co-director.
I saw some pre-viz for Gigantic at D23 last year and it looked very charming. Robert Lopez and Kirsten Anderson-Lopez will be contributing music for this twist on the Jack and the Beanstalk story. If Frozen is any indication that means this movie will make a few billion dollars.
The movie comes out November 2018.
