Alec Baldwin will take over the role of Donald Trump on SNL this season.
The role was originally played by Phil Hartman, then Darrell Hammond, then Taran Killam, then Hammond again.
I’m guessing Baldwin is likely to assume a role similar to that of Larry David, who recurred as Bernie Sanders on 10 episodes of SNL last season without formally joining the show’s cast.
SNL returns this weekend with host Margot Robbie (“Suicide Squad”). The following week’s episode will be hosted by Lin-Manuel Miranda (Broadway’s “Hamilton”).
