Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Happy Fantastic Fest, everybody! Since we're about to dive into a week of crazy genre stuff I figured now was as good a time as any to share with you this really awesome look at Junio Valverde as Santi in Guillermo del Toro's THE DEVIL'S BACKBONE, which is still my favorite of his films.
The design of Santi's spirit is one of my all time favorite spectral visions ever to be put on screen. The floating blood from his head wound? So damn cool.
What I like about this BTS pic is that you get a full body, daytime look at the detail work that went into making Santi... “come alive” is the wrong term... how about “strick a chord”? Yeah, that's better.
