Hey folks, Harry here... I think Ed Skrein is an interesting actor. He was a great asshole in DEADPOOL, I went into his relaunch of THE TRANSPORTER where he took over from Jason Statham... and I did want to really dislike him, but I most certainly didn't. His Ajax in DEADPOOL was his highest profile single most satisfying film that he's been a part of... but he's come on board BATTLE ANGEL ALITA as Zapan, a nasty fucking cyborg who is in possession of a weapon called the Damascus blade. Now this blade is a pretty big deal. As I know it, it's like a giant switchblade sword - and it's mainly known for Alita using it. So I'm already shedding phantom tears. Or maybe she'll have a Titan Blade. We'll see, some day... Rodriguez begins rolling on BATTLE ANGEL ALITA in a little over a week - and the production sounds cool as can be.
Personally I think Skrein is gonna knock this out. His character ought to go through some changes in this film. Same with Alita. It's to the nature of their characters coolest quirks. Upgrades rule. Or at least I hope they do. Can't wait to see what Robert Rodriguez and James Cameron are cooking up! We've been covering this project throughout the passing of the former century all the way still through to today.
