Hey folks, Harry here... I'm so the wrong person to talk about POWER RANGERS here on AICN. There are things that hit at a point in your life - that you just feel you're way cooler than that... There are critics that despise GOONIES - and I just wonder... how can you hate on a movie that loves you so much? I don't despise POWER RANGERS... but... once you've seen INFRAMAN... POWER RANGERS doesn't compare. I was addicted to ROBOTECH, GATCHAMAN, SPACE BATTLESHIP YAMATO, ASTROBOY... hell even TRANSFORMERS and GOBOTS... but by the time my Baby Sister started freaking out over the Pink Ranger... after years of my Barbie deprogramming, I took it as a personal affront.
I watched a few with her, but I was totally being a Dick - rather than looking at it the way a large amount of folks growing up did. I just wanted better martial arts, better effects and better stories - and I'm hoping we're gonna get that with the feature film. A film where I can actually watch the action with my sis and finally agree to say, "FUCKING AWESOME!" - I'm not there yet, but the posters that came out denote coolness I can get behind, and genuinely get a bit excited about a Sci-Fi Mech Series that could possibly be a bit of fun. Maybe even clutch cool in its grasp and own it.
