Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Look at this! I have some inside info for once! I have confirmed that one of the great "that guy" character actors is going to appear in Guillermo del Toro's Cold War-era monster story THE SHAPE OF WATER alongside the already known Michael Shannon, Doug Jones, Richard Jenkins, Octavia Spencer, Sally Hawkins and Michael Stuhlbarg.
That actor is David Hewlett, who sci-fi fans will remember from STARGATE: ATLANTIS, but has also turned in memorable performances in CUBE, SPLICE and, one of my favorites... as the asshole pilot neighbor that ends up dooming all of mankind in RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES.
They're keeping a pretty tight lid on the story, but we do know it's set in 1960s America and since Doug Jones is in the cast and Guillermo del Toro is directing there's got to be some awesome sypmathetic monster in there somewhere.
Del Toro and crew are currently hard at work in Toronto. Can't wait to see what goodies they have in store for us with this one!
