Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. THR says Tom Cruise is officially signed for Mission: Impossible 6. There was some drama behind the scenes about percentage points and shit that is unimportant to anybody that isn't an exec at Paramount or Tom Cruise or his agent.
But it's officially official now. Tom Cruise is signed on, which means Mission: Impossible 6, written and directed by Christopher McQuarrie, is definitely happening. I mean, without Tom Cruise onboard there's no franchise, right? Are people going to see these movies for the deep character of Ethan Hunt or are they going to see Tom Cruise in this kind of big stunts/high action kind of film? I'm thinking the latter.
So, while it has been in the works, the news today is the next Mission: Impossible movie is pretty much a for sure thing now. With McQuarrie onboard this is only good news. His collaborations with Cruise has given us a lot of good shit so far, so keep 'em coming, I say!
