WATCHMEN’s Dr. Manhattan
Joins Lord/Miller's THE FLASH!!

I am – Hercules!!

Billy Crudup, who played Dr. Manhattan in DC Comics’ “Watchmen,” has joined the cast of Lord/Miller’s DC Comics movie “The Flash."

The actor will portray Barry Allen’s father Henry.

Crudup played rock star Russell Hammond in Cameron Crowe’s “Almost Famous” before nabbing key roles in “Big Fish,” “Mission Impossible III,” “The Good Shepherd” and last year’s recipient of the best-picture Oscar, “Spotlight.”

“The Flash” will mark the fourth time Ezra Miller plays Allen, following the scarlet speedster’s appearances in “Batman V Superman,” "Suicide Squad" and next year's “Justice League.”

“The Flash” movie is the brainchild of “Lego Movie” writer-directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller, so I imagine it leans toward action comedy. Rick Famuyiwa, writer-director of the 2015 comic crime drama “Dope,” directs “The Flash” from a story by Lord and Miller.

Kiersey Clemons, who played Diggy in "Dope," has reportedly been signed to play Barry's love interest Iris West.

John Wesley Shipp ("Dawson's Creek"), who played Barry Allen in CBS' 1990 "The Flash" series, recurs as Allen's father on The CW's "The Flash."

The big-screen "Flash" hits screens in 2018.
