Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. I'm a pretty big fan of Ti West's stuff. I adored The Innkeepers, thought The Sacrament was super solid and, of course, loved the hell out of the period-accurate tone of House of the Devil.
I saw his latest at SXSW, a violent western appropriately titled IN A VALLEY OF VIOLENCE. Honestly, it's my least favorite film of his... I don't think he quite shifted between dead serious revenge stuff and cartoony over the top characters as effortlessly as he wanted to.
However, you can not fault either Ethan Hawke or John Travolta here. They both turn in perfect performances for their characters. Travolta is the goofier side of the coin and Hawke is the deadly serious side. They strike a great balance going up against each other and are the highlights of the movie for me.
So, it's not surprising that the official poster will showcase these two. Check it out:
The flick hits limited theaters and VOD October 21st if you want to give it a look-see.
