Naomi Watts seems to be a pretty terrible mom in this effectively creepy SHUT IN trailer!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. We're about to enter the Fall, so that means two things are happening in the movie business. One, Awards season is about to start and two, all the genre fare they have saved up over the year is about to hit.

For whatever reason (probably some weird computer algorythm somewhere) studios never like to release horror movies (or psychological thrillers or whatever they call them to not feel embarrassed) actually near Halloween, so this Naomi Watts creeper called Shut In will hit theaters in November.

It has a pretty good cast and a little bit of a Stephen King-y premise. Naomi Watts is a widowed child psychologist who has to care for her seemingly braindead teenage son (played by Stranger Thing's Charlie "I Swear I'm Not Dane DeHaan" Heaton) and decides to take in Room's Jacob Tremblay. Some supernatural shit goes down during a powerful New England snowstorm.

The trailer showcases a movie that has a pretty high production value and great cast (did I mention the great Oliver Platt pops up, too?), but at the end of the day it's all about the story and characters. If that's there, then this could be pretty rad.

The above poster is pretty cool and looks like a genre novel cover, doesn't it? Naturally, the official main poster is a pretty typical, easily forgotten design.

Thoughts?
