Hey folks, Ambush Bug here. If you’re going to be in the Los Angeles area this October 29-30, you might be interested in this event from Entertainment Weekly. They’ll be running their first-ever PopFest at The Reef in Downtown Los Angeles.
The lineup of guests is pretty impressive James Corden, the host of CBS' THE LATE, LATE SHOW, a live performance by pop superstar Nick Jonas, discussions with Oscar-winning actress and director Jodie Foster, and Emmy-winning Ryan Murphy and friends. Attendees will have an opportunity to see first-look footage and special guests from Sony's DARK TOWER, a reunion with the cast of HAPPY ENDINGS performing a never-before-seen episode, the cast of The CW's CRAZY EX-GIRLFRIEND performing their musical mashups live, and a conversation between husband-and-wife YA superstars Tahareh Mafi (SHATTER ME) and Ransom Riggs (MISS PEREGRINE’S HOME FOR PECULIAR CHILDREN). The weekend will conclude with a 20th anniversary SCREAM celebration including a Wes Craven tribute, followed by an outdoor screening of the film.
They’ve just added a live taping of Anna Faris’s podcast, ANNA FARIS IS UNQUALIFIED, musical performance by Grammy Award-nominated musician Janelle Monae, a conversation with OUTLANDER author Diana Gabaldon, and a live table read from the cast of BOB’S BURGERS.
Additional programming will be announced in the coming weeks.
This looks to be a pretty fun event. You can purchase tickets for Entertainment Weekly’s first annual Popfest event here!
