The creators of “Gossip Girl” -- Josh Schwartz & Stephanie Savage -- are behind “Runaways,” based on Brian K. Vaughn’s comic series about what happens when the offspring of supervillains band together.
In the comics, one of the group is the child of Skrull warlords. Another is a creation of Ultron.
Schwartz & Savage trace their long history of collaboration to Fox’s “The OC,” which featured a comic-book nerd named Seth Cohen.
Back in the day Schwartz told me Vaughn, an alumnus of “Lost” and “Under The Dome,” was his favorite comic-book writer.
