Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with a new BTS pic for you. You're getting a twofer today. On the last edition of the column I promised a pic of Billy Dee Williams in honor of Young Lando being strongly rumored to be a part of the Han Solo spin-off movie, but it felt weird to me to include a Lando pic without acknowledging the passing of Kenny Baker, so I went ahead and dug into my archives and pulled one of Mr. Baker as well.
He may be without his cape, but the first photo up is certainly Billy Dee in his Lando days, on the set of The Empire Strikes Back. You can see Carrie Fisher at the bottom right corner of the shot, so peel them peepers and give it a look:
I'll write up a bit of a tribute to Kenny Baker separately, but before that hits I wanted to share one of my favorite BTS pics featuring the man inside R2-D2.
I don't know what I love more: Peter Mayhew casually smoking a cigarette while half in his Chewbacca costume or Kenny Baker sitting next to him rocking a Playboy tee-shirt/black socks and sandals combo. The '70s were an amazing time...
