Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. When Lord & Miller signed on to do a "Young Han Solo" movie I think most people asked two questions: Is Chewie going to be in it? and Is Lando going to be in it?
I think they formally confirmed Chewbacca's return already and now Umberto Gonzalez/El Mayimbe has a source that says Lando is for sure in the film as well (per his story at The Wrap).
Devin Faraci has added onto this scoop saying he's been hearing similar rumblings and that specifically Donald Glover is Lord & Miller's first choice to play Young Calrissian.
Again, it's kind of a given that Lando would be in this movie once they cast Alden Ehrenreich. The age range works and while it'll smack a bit of fan fic style service to the hardcore Star Wars base I can all but guarantee we'll see Solo win the Falcon from Calrissian in the movie. That's just speculation, but you can't have those two pal-ing around in the movie and not have that come up on some form.
Whether it's Glover or not, whomever steps into Lando's cape will have a hell of a job on their hands. Billy Dee Williams is like concentrated charisma. You gotta really be on your game to have a chance at honoring what that dude brought to the role.
