Fantastic Fest 2016 Wave 1 Titles Announced! Tim Burton and Stanley Kubrick and Phantasm, oh my!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. We're only a month and a half away from Fantastic Fest, so that means it's time for them to start teasing out the line-up! The titles in the first batch of released programming are appropriately weird and varied, from a big world premiere of Tim Burton's Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children to a documentary on one of Kubrick's assistants to a Thai movie called The Dwarves Must Be Crazy about a town of little people fighting fart-tracking spirits.

Don Coscarelli will be here as well, not only showing his new Bad Robot-produced 4k restoration of Phantasm with some of his cast in tow, but also premiering the phifth and phinal philm in the Phantasm phranchise (so sorry, I had to): Phantasm: Ravager!

There's also a South Asian theme this year, so you'll see a whole lot of Hindi film weirdness at the fest this year, including titles like Khalnayak, Magadheera and Psycho Raman.

The complete listing of the first wave is below, but first I'm going to throw in the trailer for The Dwarves Must Be Crazy so you guys get an idea of what walking into any random movie at Fantastic Fest is like.
