Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. I'll be the first to admit my taste in comedy is pretty broad. I like Movie 43, for instance. If it's base and vulgar, I'll probably laugh at it. So when I say that the trailer for Masterminds looks powerfully unfunny that's pretty damning. I like some stupid shit and even I don't think this looks appealing? That's pretty rough.
The cast is there. Zach Galifianakis, Kristen Wiig, Owen Wilson, Kate McKinnon, Leslie Jones (that makes 3 out of 4 of the new Ghostbusters!), Jon Daly and Jason Sudeikis. Napoleon Dynamite's Jared Hess directs... But this thing just looks flat to me.
This is one of the titles caught up in Relativity's bankruptcy and has been sitting on the shelf for a while. Maybe it should have stayed there... Or maybe it's just a weak trailer for a decent movie. With that cast I'll give it a shot. I just won't be very hopeful.
