Ryan Coogler's Black Panther characters and cast officially announced at SDCC!

Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. The Marvel panel is currently underway at SDCC and the very first batch of news is centered around Ryan Coogler's Black Panther movie, which starts filming in January.

Coogler and Chadwick Boseman are on stage right now and they brought out some of their cast members, announcing their characters officially. Let's see what we got:

MICHAEL B. JORDAN - He'll be the villain, Erik Killmonger. In the books he was exiled from Wakanda and holds a deep grudge against T'Challa and his family.

LUPITA NYONG'O - Nakia, a warrior who is close to T'Challa.

DANIA GURIRA - You know here as Michonne from Walking Dead. She'll be playing Okoye, the head of the Dora Milajea, which is an elite group of female warrior bodyguards for the tribal leaders of Wakanda.

They also revealed the new Black Panther logo, featuring the nifty new "Marvel Studios" logo as well. Check it out:

More Marvel stuff is on the way as the panel continues. Stay tuned!
