Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. It's poster reveal day at San Diego Comic-Con and thankfully for all of us not hanging out at the Con this weekend the folks at the studios have decided to release all the posters on this crazy little internet thing, so we can all share in the geekery!
I still think Warners marketing has a little work to do to make sure the average ticket buyer is aware that this movie exists in the Harry Potter universe, but isn't a Harry Potter movie. I still see confusion from the average person who doesn't spend every spare minute pouring over movie news sites and reading geeky forums as to exactly what the hell this movie is.
If they can crack through that confusion I think they'll have a hit here. The cast is great, the tone of the trailers is fun and captures some of the magic from the Potters and now we have this nifty poster. Not sure if this particular design will go out to theaters or just be a Con exclusive but I dig it a lot. Says immediately this is a period piece that takes place in America, but is also tied to the Wizarding World audiences know and love.
