The New TRAFFIC Trailer Kicks Major Booty!!!

Published at:  Nov 29, 2000 3:10:09 AM CST

Hey folks, Harry here... Now, while I am completely sober and only enjoying the paranoia involved with the Season 2 of the X-FILES dvd, I could tell you... IF (pay attention to that word) IF I were doing line after line of Coke at this exact moment... After watching this trailer (And disc 1 of Season 2 of the X-FILES) I would be one paranoid fuck. From the X-FILES disc, I have learned to not trust digital read outs and insecticides.... The trailer taught me my daughter is doing drugs.... X-Files taught me if I don't sleep by cutting the back of my neck I can kill people with hallucinations.... The Trailer tells me people are listening to my every word.... and X-Files tells me Mulder is transcribing what I'm saying.... This trailer says that toys are made of odorless cocaine... X-Files says that there are humanoid worms in the sewer beneath my stopped up toilet..... The Trailer says cars blow up.... The X-files says that LSDM makes me scared.... The trailer says the War is just beginning... the X-Files says to trust no one... I'M SERIOUSLY FUCKED UP RIGHT NOW!!! WHAT DO I DO? WHO DO I KILL? Do I Do the Dew? WHAT IS IN MOUNTAIN DEW?

Click below thanks to French Premiere to see the latest uber cool trailer for what could well be your gateway to Federal Paranoia.... and pick up Season 2 of the X-FILES on Dvd... Together... You can be sane like me.

I've stolen some of my mother's valium and some of my great aunt's beta-blockers. Take five of each and wash down with half a bottle of whiskey. You will be paranoid no more.

    The Big S

    by brendon

Mr S seems to have hit the nail on the head, and made something of a fist of the original TV show. Certainly punchy - I just hope it's holding something good in it's palm too.

My apologies for the burble - I'd make more sense IF I wasn't doing line after line of coke.

just say NO kids (I don't even drink the booze)

    Great Trailer!

    by filmguru

I just checked out the trailer and I must say that this film just shot up to become my most anticipated holiday flick. For those who are wondering what some critics are saying about the film, check out an advanced review on www.reel.com. The guy there says this movie is IT.

Everyone seems to be pointing out the obvious that this has been a bad year for movies. Truthfully, there simply aren't many good films out this year. There aren't even any probable Oscar contenders thus far. Traffic may just change all that.

I can't wait until this pot-boiler's come and gone so Stephen So

    by cruel shoes

Nothing against Soderbergh's work, it's pure genius, but nothing compared to his masterwork, which could set the tone for a new movement in America, much like Dogma95, I'm talking Schizopolis01. I'm willing to sign onto the manifesto. There would be no Out Of Sight had Soderbergh not made Schizopolis. COME ON MAN! GIVE US A SON!

    Wow! What a rush! (hee!)

    by the gline

Seriously, all the best movies this year seem to be about drugs. REQUIEM FOR A DREAM was staggering; now this. In a year where the movies have been very bad for the most part, this will come as a welcome relief.

    GADDAMNIT HARRY!

    by auntiemeat

You were watching the Port-A-Potty Monster episode at your place last night and you didn't TELL ME?? I was sitting at home all night, piddling around, doing nothing! And you! You and Quint were watching one of my all-time favorite X-Files episodes! NOOO!! Okay, okay, I'm calm now... damn, I love that episode. That, and the episode with the little glowing bugs that suck your blood out in the dark. Ahh... yes, the Port-A-Potty Monster is to this day a running joke at my home. It's just great that a single episode of a show can bring back warm memories of home. Okay, my fuzzy warm after-school-special part of this is over. Return to your regular lives now, I am done.

I'm calling it now: Traffic wins Best Picture

    by lance rock

I think the trailer could be even stronger, personally, but if any of the advance reviews are to be believed, and you're a Soderbergh nut like me, there's little doubt this movie is going to top the list at the end of the year. Bring on Ocean's 11!

    Don Cheadle kicks ass!

    by cooler-than-thou

I wanted see 'Traffic' from get-go and once I learned that Cheadle was also starring in it, it closed the deal. The man hasn't made a single movie I recall that I didn't like. And Del Toro is the shit too. 'The Way of the Gun' was a film that deserved to take the box office by storm. Too bad it wasn't properly marketed.

Rock the Academy Awards and give the oscar to Del Toro, Soderbergh and Mike Douglas! God, I can't wait to see that one... OH, OH, and I'm not talking about OCEAN'S 11, I'm sure it will be pure pleasure. See ya, talkbackers

    TRAFFIC or... Gladiator?

    by mister m

Of course it would be great to see TRAFFIC and Soderbergh win the Oscars. But, hey, I haven't even seen the film yet... The trailer is awesome, of course. Right now, the Best Picture of the year is Gladiator, in my opinion. And I'd be glad to see Ridley win a golden statuette. Anyway, I think Gladiator will win several awards. At least for cinematography, set decoration, costumes, and so. Best actor of the year? Hard to predict... Maybe Tom Hanks for Castaway, or...something REALLY COOL : Johnny Depp for CHOCOLAT. Best actress? Julia Roberts looks like a safe bet. But Joan Allen has been deserving it for YEARS. Special FX? Well, THAT'S a tough race : no front runner for me this year... But watch for THE PERFECT STORM. Well, this year is very very interesting.

movie looks good; trailer not so good

    by airchinapilot

I like Soderburgh in the Limey and Out of Sight (didn't see Erin Brockerwitch). I have faith that this movie will be good, however this trailer and in particular the narration was like an NBC TV Movie of the week with higher production values. I remember seeing the British TV miniseries "Traffik" years ago and liking how gritty it was, especially the story of the politician who goes to the golden triangle to see why his daughter is hooked on heroin. I'm sure they'll replay it on TV because of this movie. Looking forward to this.

    cooler-than-thou....

    by heywoodfloyd

how would you know that a film was improperly marketed or not unless harry told you so, which he did way back when in an article about artisan and wotg, right before that article.....mysteriously.......disappeared. i don't mean to jump on you, but don't just regurgitate whatever old harry tells you to. by the way, whatever happened to that article, harry?

    Hey Heywood...

    by cooler-than-thou

First off, I never even read that article. Secondly, I'm a grown man, I don't need opinions fed to me. From the moment I heard that McQuarrie was directing WOTG, I knew what to expect therefore I wanted to see it. Besides you don't have to be blind to notice that the marketing for WOTG was bullshit. They made it out to seem like some Scream-crowd, self-referential action movie about two young, hip, fun-loving criminals and their desert misadventures. Which was malarky ( ha. marlarky) because the film was anything but that. Had it been marketed as the gritty, operatic, modern day western it was, it might have made more money. Hopefully it will find new life in video sales. I sure as hell know that i'm getting it the second it's available on DVD.
