Tarantino:
‘Two More’!!

I am – Hercules!!

53-year-old Quentin Tarantino confirmed in Jerusalem late last week that he’s only going to direct two more features.

He says he’s going for a total of ten. He counts “Death Proof” among those 10 and “Kill Bill” as a single movie. But his work on “Sin City” and “Four Rooms” does not enter the tally, nor of course his direction of “ER” and “CSI” episodes:

1) Reservoir Dogs
2) Pulp Fiction
3) Jackie Brown
4) Kill Bill
5) Death Proof
6) Inglourious Basterds
7) Django Unchained
8) The Hateful Eight
9)
10)

Tarantino hasn’t yet revealed what’s going in that #9 slot.

If he makes “Kill Bill Vol. 3” does that just become part of #4?

Could he go back to writing features he doesn’t direct, like “From Dusk Till Dawn” and “True Romance”?

Maybe he’ll go Soderbergh’s way and make pay-cable TV shows like “K Street” and “The Knick”? Will “The Vega Bros.” be one of those last two movies? Or will it now run eight hours on Hulu or Cinemax?

Perhaps he’ll just cheat.

“I’m planning on stopping at 10. So it’ll be two more,” Tarantino told those gathered at Jerusalem Cinematheque. “Even if at 75, if I have this other story to tell, it would still kind of work because that would make those 10. They would be there and that would be that. But the one he did when he was an old fucking man, that geriatric one exists completely on its own in the old folks’ home and is never put in the same shelf next to the other 10. So it doesn’t contaminate the other 10.”
