Trailer for I AM JFK JR attempts to honor a good man taken too soon...

Hey folks, Harry here...   I went to Sundance 1998 as a guest of the festival.  I'd never been to an experience quite like that one in my life.   The night I saw Joe Carnahan's premiere of BLOOD, GUTS, BULLETS & OCTANE - I received an invite from JFK Jr for the GEORGE party - where he wanted to talk to me about his magazine.  THIS was one of those experiences...  where, I had no idea what I was getting into.   The party was like nothing I'd experienced before.  But when he approached me, I was gobsmacked.  All I could think in my 26 year old mind was that footage of him at his father's funeral in Washington D.C.   And in the setting I was in...   I just thought.   If any man could ever be BATMAN, it was JFK JR.     I know, I'm a geek through and through, I can't deny that.   I liked GEORGE magazine and we talked about the place of Journalism in this country.  At the time, I was very anti-corporate media.   The idea that a these companies making films were crafting our news, opinions and mindset was a profoundly disturbing situation.  He was also quite concerned about it and had very strong opinions on how Media doesn't serve the Government & Corporate Interests, but that is exactly what has happened.  We talked a bit about Frank Capra.   I came away fauning over him.  Saw him on the Citizen Kane path...   start with a piece of media and then reform the government, only avoid scandal - unlike Kane.   He died over the Atlantic in July that following year and I'm not entirely sure if we'll ever know the lost potential that that fateful night took away from the world.   But the man I met Sundance certainly struck me as a good man with a great deal on his mind.  I look forward to checking out this documentary which will have a limited release on the 20th of July, then air on SPIKE beginning July 20th. Here's the trailer:

Keep it cool,

Harry
