Following a season playing Bernie Sanders as an unofficial cast member of “Saturday Night Live,” Larry David is headed back to HBO to write and star in a ninth season of “Curb Your Enthusiasm.”
“We’re thrilled that Larry has decided to do a new season of Curb and can’t wait to see what he has planned,” said HBO president of programming Casey Bloys, speaking Tuesday at the Banff World Media Festival.
David’s last episode of “Curb,” titled “Larry Vs. Michael J. Fox,” aired five years ago this summer, on Sept. 11, 2011.
No word on when we’ll see the return of “Curb,” but the smart money is on next year.
Launching Oct. 15, 2000, "Curb" aired no new episodes in 2003, 2006, 2008 and 2010, but the current break is by far the series' longest.
But this is not the longest hiatus for a TV series; "Dallas" disappeared from 1991 to 2012.
