Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. David Lowery's Pete's Dragon reboot gets a brand spankin' new trailer tomorrow, but they just couldn't hold out on this super cute poster featuring our new Pete cradled in Elliott's tail.
Pete's Dragon is a big movie for me. In fact it was more than just a childhood favorite, it was literally the first film I ever saw in a theater. I know Lowery's film is going to be night and day different in tone and scope (still holding out hope for some singing during the end credits, damn it!), but I gotta say that new poster is about as perfect a snapshot of the heart of the movie I look back on dearly.
It's not exactly a copy of this image, but I'm going to include the poster for 1984 re-release of Pete's Dragon below and you can see how similar it is in concept.
Anyway, this was a bit of marketing that made me smile, so I thought maybe a few of you would like it as well.
